Dit voormalig klooster werd in 1903 betrokken door Franse Trappistinnen. Zij noemden het huis Notre Dame du Perpetual Secours (Onze Lieve Vrouw van altijddurende bijstand). In 1912 vertrokken de zusters weer naar Frankrijk. In de Eerste Wereldoorlog woonden er novicen van de Paters van de H.H. Harten, gevlucht uit België. Nadien kwam het gebouw in handen van fabrikant Van den Bergh, die het de naam De Rendierhoeve gaf. Wellicht omdat op de etiketten van het reclamemateriaal voor zijn AaBe-dekens rendieren voorkwamen.
