Routering Wandel - mooiste

Wandelroute in boswachterij Sint Anthonis tussen akkers, weilanden en bossen. Je start in Landhorst, een klein ontginningsdorp, waar voorheen heide was op ‘woeste grond’. Onderweg vind je veel sporen van bosbeheer en bosbouw, want het bos is hier vanaf 1928 aangeplant om de mijnen in Limburg te voorzien van stuthout en in het kader van ‘werkverschaffing’. Daarom zie je nu diverse naaldsoorten zoals grove den, Corsicaanse den, lariks en Douglas met ondergroei van bochtige smele, pijpenstrootje en brede stekelvaren.
