Het wandelpad leidt u over een afstand van 31 kilometer door een schitterend gebied midden in de provincie Utrecht. Omdat de wandelmogelijkheden in deze streek beperkt waren heeft de provincie dit initiatief in 2003 ter hand genomen. Dat heeft geleid tot een nieuwe, doorgaande route langs de Kromme Rijn.
Dank aan de partners in dit project: Hoogheemraadschap De Stichtse Rijnlanden, gemeente Utrecht, Bunnik, Wijk bij Duurstede, Recreatie Midden-Nederland en de partijen in het landinrichtingsproject RAK Kromme Rijn.
