Hier in deze zoo werd een beroemd geval geobserveerd van homoseksualiteit in de dierenwereld. Twee pinguinmannetjes zochten stenen en begonnen daar als koppel op te broeden. De toezichteren experimenteerden en gaf het koppel een bevrucht ei. De twee mannetjes broedden het ei uit en zorgden voor het jong tot het groot was.
