En del af denne store sø "de Putse Moer" ejes stadig privat, men er en del af Grænsepark Kalmthoutse Heide. Som navnet antyder, blev der tidligere også gravet tørv her, og denne sø skylder i høj grad sin opståen til det. I kanterne af søen vokser sjældne planter som soldug og hvide og brune næbofter.
