Dernau ved Ahr er en kommune i Ahrweiler-distriktet i den nordlige del af Rheinland-Pfalz. Dernau tilhører Altenahr kommunesammenslutning og er den næststørste kommune i denne.
Dernau ligger i Ahrdalens dal på kanten af Ahrbjergene på cirka 125 m over havets overflade, cirka 30 kilometer syd for Bonn og 50 kilometer nord for Koblenz. Den højeste top inden for kommunen er med 355,4 m over havets overflade Krausberg.
