The Kurhaus Binz is located on the promenade, at the spa square and not far from the Binz pier of the Baltic seaside resort of Binz on the island of Rügen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Today it is a luxury hotel of the Travel Charme hotel group.
Berlin bankers invested in the expansion of the seaside resort with the "Ostseebad Binz AG" and had a spa house built, which opened on July 22, 1890. Among the first guests was Empress Auguste Viktoria. The half-timbered house burned down on May 1, 1906. In the summer of 1907, the municipal council decided to construct a new spa house made of stone according to the plans of the Berlin architect Otto Spalding. The building became a landmark of the seaside resort.
