First mentioned in 1444. The mill with gatehouse forms the end of the Obere Freiheit at the Niedere Freiheit. Developed as a fortification, the building served to protect the castle in times of need. In 1910, the water wheel was replaced by a turbine. In 1963, the mill became the property of the Beyer family by purchase from Count Landsberg. Until the end of the mill operation in the 60s, after that only the agricultural trade. Since 1999, the mill has been used only for residential purposes. Once we have passed the gatehouse, we enter the Superior Freedom Zone.
