Sur les neuf portes, quatre sont restées: Smedenpoort, Kruispoort, Gentpoort et Ezelpoort. La porte de Katelijne était située sur la route menant à Kortrijk. La porte de Katelijne est le point de départ du célèbre sentier GR (GR 129).
