Not without reason does the cemetery on Hoog Kortrijk carry the name 'Uitzicht' (View). Walk through this place of silence towards the pond behind the Onument.
This Onument is a recent circular memorial from 2021. It commemorates the many victims of the coronavirus and serves as a place of comfort for various experiences of loss. Moments, events, and rituals can also be organized here. Quietly or loudly, small or grand, to be experienced together or alone. And it is definitely a peaceful, you could even call it meditative, spot with a beautiful view over the water and the fields around it. By the pond rests the marble sculpture 'Groot Gebonden Marmer' (Great Bound Marble), a work by the Kortrijk artist Paul Van Rafelghem.
