Landgoed-Hotel Welgelegen

Hotel Welgelegen in Harich near Balk is one of the most beautiful hotel farms in Friesland. The hotel is situated in a unique location between the Frisian lakes and forests and lives up to its name. From the high yard with giant trees you have an unobstructed view of the meadow area between the Slotermeer and the farm. Behind the hotel the Gaasterland forests begin. The farmhouse Hotel Welgelegen dates from 1885 and is a very characteristic place to stay. In particular, the former home of the gentleman farmer, including the lounge and restaurant, exudes the distinguished atmosphere of yesteryear. The stables now house the rooms and a cosy breakfast room. The former 'part' has been converted into a large banquet and meeting room. The room has an authentic feel due to the use of solid natural wood.
