Description of contents
As in his acclaimed novel White Horses , Paul Gellings shows himself to be a master of memory again in Southern Hiking Trail . In his new novel, he takes the reader to the Amsterdam-Zuid of his youth, the neighborhood where Anne Frank lived, ten years before he was born there, and where there is still a smell of fear and collaboration.
The narrator of history has a special memory of one figure, Leonard Grûnewald. Things happened to Leonard at the time that the main character still can't understand and wants to come to terms with himself.
