Spa-Francorchamps Circuit

My first high-octane memory takes place at the now-removed campsite near La Source and the main grandstand of Francorchamps. There, I went camping with my dad as a little snot during the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. With the roar of the racing cars in the background, I went to sleep in the evening and on the incredibly early morning of August 1, 1993, I woke up. Not because of the engine noise, but because there was an unsettling silence over the forests of Francorchamps. The organization had decided to stop the race due to the death of King Baudouin. A tragedy for every five-year-old petrolhead that I still haven't forgotten all these years later.
