New York bekijken van uit Londen door een geheime tunnel die onder de Atlantische Oceaan loopt? Dat is wat de Telectroscope je kan aanbieden.
De artist Paul St. George baseert zijn creatie op het (fictief) verhaal van zijn grootvader Alexander Stanhope St George. Toen die in de 19de eeuw de Brooklyn Bridge in New York ging gaan bekijken, had hij een behoorlijke ruwe zee op de terugweg. Dit deed hem nadenken om toch mensen uit Londen New York te laten zien, zonder dat ze deze oncomfortabele trip moesten maken. En hij bedacht een transatlantische tunnel met optische toestellen aan het uiteinde.
Natuurlijk is dit fictie, maar kunstenaar Paul St. George bouwde dit kunstwerk die deze illusie creert. Hij bouwde het met een videolink om New York van uit Londen en omgekeerd, te zien.
