AzureSet course from Dendermonde to Aalst, first through the rural tranquility of the Faluintjesdorpen, then on the kilometre-long cycle paths along the Dender. The valley between the two cities is home to a varied river landscape with moist lakes, reed beds and groves.
From junction 44 – in the middle of the hop region – you can also cross the Leirekensroute: formerly a former railway line from Aalst to Antwerp, today a popular cycling and walking route with two equally popular catering establishments: Brasserie De Graankorrel and 't Stationneken in the old station building of Baardegem. Two city walks and an extra terrace stop in Aalst and Dendermonde on top, and you are assured of a beautiful day on Scheldtland!
