Idyllic on top of a peninsula: Iznájar - Andalusia

Iznájar is located on a reservoir and is connected to the outside world by bridges. When you see it you would think you are on an island. The 32 km long lake is the largest in Andalusia and is also called the Lake of Andalusia .

Park at the Plaza de la Venta.

We start with a steep climb, but at the Paseo De La Constitución we already get a nice view of the reservoir. The Ermita de la Piedad is also located here. We ascend further and arrive at the colorful Patio de las comedias , one of the most photogenic spots of Iznájar.

The cemetery of Iznájar is known abroad. It is located behind the Parroquia de Santiago Apóstol.

We climb further up to the Castillo de Iznájar. Via the colorfully flowered Plaza de la Torre we reach the Mirador Cruz de San Pedro. Further on at the Mirador Embalse we get a view on the other side of the reservoir. We take the stairs down to the Mirador de las Tres Cruces.

A little further we see some of the Casa Cueva , rock dwellings, many of which are still in Iznájar.

We return via the Mirador del Postigo which gives us yet another view of the lake.
