Villa Velleron

Located in the old town of the village of Velleron, a typical and intact Provençal village, Villa Velleron is the perfect starting point for excursions in the near and far surroundings or as a stopover on a round trip. Our beautiful village house is an insider tip. In a 17th century olive mill, our guests can choose from five stylishly and individually furnished rooms and a cosy holiday flat. A shady courtyard, a crystal-clear pool, a romantic terrace and a Provençal garden round off the idyll in the middle of the lively old town of Velleron. On certain days, we also offer dinner at the table d'hôtes in addition to the rich French breakfast. The menu is composed of regional and seasonal products, based on the farmers' market "Marché agricole de Velleron". Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and benefit from our special "Acceuil Vélo" service (member since 2022) with, among other things, lockable garage, tools in case of repair and electrical connections for charging eBikes. For our guests who do not arrive with their own bike, we have professional partners for bike rental with delivery service in our neighbourhood. Whether road bike, touring bike, mountain bike or electric bike: the near and far surroundings offer many possibilities. We will be happy to advise you before or during your stay in French, German or English. Velleron is located directly on the "VIA VENAISSIA" cycle route (V 861). This route leads through the former Comtat Venaissin (part of the Vaucluse) and connects the "ViaRhôna" (EV17) with the "Méditerranée" (EV8) via Orange, Carpentras, Pernes-les-Fontaines, Velleron, Isle sur la Sorgues and Robion in the Luberon. This cycle route was built in sections on the route of the old railway line. The route is easy and ideal for enjoying magnificent views of the vineyards, Mont Ventoux and the villages. The "Voie Verte" No. 11 with one route to Pernes-les-Fontaines and another to Isle-sur-la-Sorgue starts near Villa Velleron. The ride runs partly along the "Canal de Carpentras" in the hills around Velleron. This cycle path offers connections to other cycle paths in the region, such as the approx. 240 km long Luberon cycle circuit. Avignon (with parking facilities for bikes and luggage as well as a TGV connection) or Fontaine-de-Vaucluse are two examples of destinations that can easily be reached by bike. The region offers various mountain bike routes, including from Saumane-de-Vaucluse, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse or Pernes-Les-Fontaines, or various routes directly in the hills near Velleron. Velleron is also within reach of the ultimate challenge for any road cyclist, Mont Ventoux. When is the best time for cycling in our region. In February, nature awakens with the blossoming of the almond trees. Until May, temperatures usually fluctuate between 20 and 25 degrees, just right for long bike rides in a landscape with blossoming fruit trees and herb fields. In May, poppy fields bathe the landscape in bright red, or at least provide appropriate splashes of colour. Summer in Provence is the time of lavender and tends to be hot and dry, often with deep blue skies. From June to September, the rainfall rate is low and temperatures often rise to over 30° C during the day. A light wind and sometimes the mistral provide cooling, especially during the night. Autumn is often described as the most colourful time. Temperatures of over 25 degrees make it very pleasant to spend time outdoors. You can catch a downpour at this time of year. The seasons from the end of March to the end of June and from the end of August to the end of October are described as the best and most pleasant for cyclists.
