Herbeumont Tombeau du Chevalier (Boult) (5km)

This loop is a slightly heavier loop of 5km of the meander version: https://www.routeyou.com/nl/route/view/1009511/wandelroute-herbeumont-tombeau-du-chevalier-meander-5km.nl, which consists of walking both along the crest of the meander and along the right bank of the Semois.

This loop is therefore a perfect loop for families with children who want a trip into the forest including a difficult climb and also a stretch along the Semois. A double pleasure that can be expected! Deer and roe deer regularly cross the Semois on the west side of the loop followed.

The signed GPX starts on the north side of the Moulain Willaime campsite-farm-watermill (cul-de-sac along the Semois). (There are a few parking spaces outside the campsite). Initially, just follow the Semois and then climb briefly to a crossroads of several paths (which you also pass at the end). Turn left and continue to follow Semois for 50m on your left. At the beginning of the descent, you pass a cross turn on the right uphill. Take this exit on the right and continue the climb - sometimes quite difficult for children, but they will have fun with it!. After half a km you reach the back. You have to cross and pass rocks from time to time, harmless if you stay in the path of the jet! From here there are several views.
Then the path descends gently and you arrive on the southeast side of the Tomb on the way along the Semois. The marked loop here takes the exit on the right to follow the west side of the tomb, along the Semois. From this moment on, you can cool off at different places in the Semois if necessary.

After less than 4km, you will return to the crossroads after your departure.
Then, don't take the path you came from (unless you prefer to take the shortest path to your starting point from there), but follow the paved road which stays at about the same height. You go a little further to a point of view. Then turn right onto the paved road to Moulain Willaime, where you can enjoy a delicious Orval or a soft drink or hot chocolate.
