Linsmeau-Trans-Haspengouw

Our tour starts and ends in Linsmeau (Linsmeel), a remote corner of the province of Walloon-Brabant, where the car can be safely parked in the quiet streets of the center. The route takes us through four provinces: Walloon-Brabant, Liège, Limburg, and Flemish-Brabant, thus crossing Walloon-Hesbaye and Flemish-Hesbaye. An idyllic landscape: gentle hills, small church villages, and orchards full of blossoms and freshly picked fruit. Often, you can enjoy the magnificent views over a fairly hilly area. This bike tour is a true pleasure for all enthusiastic cyclists who have a distaste for the dangerous bike paths in Flanders, where along the strip development there is an exit from a garage, a property, or a side street every ten meters that constantly puts us in life-threatening situations. None of that on this tour. On this route, care has been taken to stay away from traffic routes 95% of the time. Everything runs on paved paths, mainly farm roads, old railway embankments, and small connecting roads. There are no unpleasant, deadly dangerous, poorly designed, or poorly maintained bike paths, as there are far too many in the rest of Flanders. Here you can enjoy the entire route wonderfully and appreciate the hilly landscape and the wide views. This tour does not have its own signage.
