Holven - 't Plat - orange - 5.9 km

After your walk through Holven, carefully cross the N715 and you'll find yourself in a pine forest where you can still clearly see the traces of the wind in the form of high dunes.
The Holven - 't Plat walking area consists of three parts, each with its own starting point.
The green and orange walks take you through dry coniferous forests on former shifting dunes and connect to Pijnven, one of the largest contiguous pine forests in Flanders.
The yellow route lets you discover the nature reserve 't Plat managed by Natuurpunt, where wet and dry heath alternate with reed beds and floodplain forests, creating an incredibly varied landscape. Here, a herd of sheep grazes, and you can find more than 17 species of dragonflies and about 45 different breeding birds, making 't Plat a nature area of great value. It is also a paradise for amphibians and reptiles.
The blue route has been specially designed for the residents of the MS clinic and is fully accessible for wheelchair users and strollers. Along the way, there are various adapted experiential elements. The prehistoric burial mounds along this route testify to the rich history of the area.
