Zuunbeek Valley Hike

Follow the Wilderkasteellaan in an easterly direction and turn right at the second street. Follow the Jan Vanderstraetenstraat until you reach the fork, where you keep to the right and walk along the path next to the hedge. Now you can either walk left around the pond or go into the pond area and circle it clockwise. Follow the Zuunbeek along the right bank, then you can more easily cross over to the Camille Leunenstraat. You now enter the nature reserve 'de Zuunvallei' (http://www.sint-pieters-leeuw.be/content/press/record.php?ID=3197), which is maintained by 'Natuurpunt vzw'. Once you are back on the paved road, keep to the right and continue along the path in a southwesterly direction. Before the Coloma Castle, walk west down the castle path to the Kastanjedreef, turn left there and follow the Topstraat either left or right by the church. After two hundred meters, you can take a small path on the right that leads to the Jozef Dedobbeleerstraat. (In rainy weather, of course, you can also follow the road.) At the Oudenakenstraat, turn sharply left until the five-way intersection, where you keep to the right. You are now heading straight towards the VRT mast and go straight past the mast on the right. At the end, turn right and directly left again. (Before you turn left, you can walk a little further; there’s a nice little chapel in the wall next to the farmhouse there.)
