Parc urbain du prieuré

The urban park of the Priory is a large green space covering more than 30 hectares, on the outskirts of the city, with free access 7/7 and 24/24 hours. There are two entrances: either via the chemin du moulin de St Leu, rue André Ginisti (near the E.Leclerc shop) or via the footbridge on avenue François Mitterrand (at the roundabout and the E.Seguin hospital). A dirt track allows you to walk or cycle around the pond. This path is adapted for pushchairs or people in wheelchairs. For sportsmen and women, there are posts indicating the lengths, allowing the sessions to be split over lengths of 150 metres, as well as an urban gymnastics structure. Swimming is forbidden but the pond is a delight for fishermen: there are eels, pike-perch, pike-perch, white fish and even carp. The pond is maintained by municipal officials and the association "Les Martins pêcheurs". To extend the walk, you can reach the Thiverny pond by a small path that allows you to cross the railway in complete safety. From there, you can go directly to the hiking trail that crosses the woods in the direction of Cramoisy. The river "Le Thérain" runs alongside the urban park. A few metres from the park is the Montataire Canoeing Club which rents boats for independent trips from Mouy or Cires-les-Mello.
