Bicycle ride around Leuven

One of our favorite bike rides to stay fit with departure and arrival in Moorsel (Tervuren) in an arc around Leuven. The ride starts with quite a bit of climbing as it crosses the tributaries of Dyle, which give the region's landscape its typical character. This concerns Voer, Ijse, Laan, Dijle and Nethen sequentially. The challenging slope of Pécrot is also on the program between Dijle and Nethen. Another challenging slope awaits in Pellenberg. Once in Leuven, the second and easier part of the ride begins with a few kilometers along the Leuven-Mechelen canal and through the meadow landscape between Kampenhout and Everberg. Given the busy nature of the region, cycling mainly takes place on roads with light traffic in a reasonably good state.
