The Teut in Zonhoven is the ideal Sunday afternoon outing. Especially in late summer, when the heather blooms beautifully in purple, this lovely nature area is worth the visit. Here, you literally walk among the heather, encounter unique ponds, and can enjoy an exceptional panorama of the region from the hills. The name of the area comes from the Zonhoven dialect word 'toot', which means pointed or sharp.
This short walk shows you at a glance the most beautiful spots of The Teut, with a stunning panorama atop the teut hill, extraordinarily beautiful ponds (voted one of the most beautiful spots in the Low Kempen), and gorgeous purple heather in August-September. The children will enjoy the loose sand and the narrow paths. However, bringing a stroller is difficult.
