Enjoying walking around Anzegem

It may not be immediately noticeable, but around the
village center of Anzegem is a surprising
beautiful scenery. On the flanks of the ridge,
an offshoot of the Flemish Ardennes,
source numerous sources. The resulting
Created streams have deep folds in the
landscape sculpted. Along quiet paths leads
the walk us through the Winterhoek and the
Weedries to the natural wealth of Hemsrode.
Peace and beautiful views are our reward.
Due to the increasing number of buildings in Flanders,
the open space fragmented into small areas
or fragments enclosed by
other functions such as business parks, roads
and residential areas. It's becoming increasingly important
to the beautiful pieces of open space that give us
still to preserve and watch over residues
that they can come into their own.
With the planting of hedges, wood edges and
Solitary trees we can dress up the landscape again and make it more valuable.
Start: Take the Nieuwpoortstraat in a westerly direction (not the dead end)
0.75 km: Opposite house number 5, past a warehouse, turn right onto the earth road Korte Winterstraat on the left
1.0 km: Cross Lange Winterstraat diagonally. Right stepping stones towards Winterhoek. At house number 2 follow stepping stones straight ahead, which later turn into earth road.
2.0km: On the traffic road Landergemstraat left. After 300 m, opposite house number 18 take the earth road on the right. On Kouterstraat go straight ahead and then follow Kouterstraat on the left.
3.1km: Berglaan left towards centre. Right between church and town hall.
3.5km: Behind church and residence Schoonzicht
Kerkwegel (stepping stones). Railway over, stepping stones continue to follow.
4.2km: Turn left at Krommestraat, then
railway over.
5 km: Right Statiestraat.
5.3km: At "court of virtues" (sic) turn left up Balthazarstraat.
5.7km: Left gravel paved earth road descending,
furthermore, stepping stones Weedries.
6.5 km: Cross Wortegemsesteenweg straight
Unpaved road climbing
7 km: Petegemstraat on the right. If you take the shortened route here, turn left until you reach Kalkstraat (see no. 6) First street on the left, Ouden Heirweg. Follow Ouden Heirweg to the Barze (information board)
8.4 km: At the Barze take the gravel paved road, continue to the right.
9.3 km: Close to the buildings, take a step stone on the left, follow it further on the right.
9.5 km: Kalkstraat on the right to the starting point.
