The route leads through the water-rich landscape of the IJzerbroeken, at the border to the polders and the sand-clay area. You start in the historic town of Lo and then ride over the Old Dike to the Ieperleekanaal. The overgrown banks of this waterway lead to Steenstrate. Through Reninge, you reach the IJzer and the Sassen of Fintele, where the Lovaart flows into the IJzer. On the way back, you ride along quiet rural roads and encounter historic farms and nearly forgotten villages like Pollinkhove and Hoogstade.
