Sonian Forest Network - route 4: from Boitsfort via Groenendaal to Terhulpen

This 15 km long forest walk starts at the Boitsfort train station and ends at the Terhulpen station in Wallonia. You walk through the three regions in one day.

The walk immediately enters the wonderful Tournay-Solvay park and then dives into the large forest through the vegetable garden. Through the valley of the Vuylbeek, you reach the Graafdreef. This takes you - straight as an arrow and almost one and a half km long - to the picturesque Ganzepootvijver. A bit further lies the site of the former priory of Groenendaal, the center of the Sonian Forest, with the IJsevijvers and the castle. We now climb back up to the plateau, cross the Brussels Ring, and follow the Kruistochtendreef. A series of narrow valleys finally leads you to the majestic castle park of Terhulpen, after which you leave the forest and reach the La Hulpe station.

Endpoint: Terhulpen (La Hulpe) train station on line 161.

From the endpoint back to the starting point by public transport: the starting and ending stations are on the same train line.
