Trail of the Spirits (50K)

The Trail des Fantômes route is 50 km long and has an elevation gain of 2350 meters.
These official figures are the most accurate I have noticed so far for all competition routes. (straight distance = 50.2 km, 2330 meters of elevation gain, actual distance considering the climbs = 52 km).

The trail is very diverse, features many singletracks, and is 98% off-road. It is considered very challenging.
The Ourthe River is crossed 5 times: 3 times dry (Barrage de Nisramont and higher over the two Ourthes) and 2 times wet (Le Hérou dam after 15.2 km - between La Roche and Barrage de Nisramont -) and on the return in the last kilometer in La Roche.

The start and finish point is at the Hotel de Floreal in La Roche en Ardenne; the start is at 230 m, the finish along the Ourthe at 225 m elevation.
