Hosenfeld

The core village of Hosenfeld is one of the eight villages on the eastern slope of the Vogelsberg that make up today's large municipality of Hosenfeld in the district of Fulda. The name of the new municipality was adopted from the previously independent municipality of Hosenfeld and has since been regarded as the name of the large municipality.

Hosenfeld is located on the western district boundary in the district of Fulda, not far from the Vogelsbergkreis. The regional road connections are provided by the state road L3141 coming from Flieden via Hauswurz and leading to Großenlüder, and the state road L3079 leading from Fulda through Giesel, Jossa, to Bermuthshain. The brook Jossa, which springs in the district of Jossa, flows into the Lüder at Hainzell, which comes from Bermuthshain. The topographical elevation in the village is at 375.7 m above sea level as the lowest point. The highest elevation in the area, next to "Hohe Balz" at 384.7 m, is the Gabberg at 387.5 m above sea level. The district of Hosenfeld covers a total area of 2,278.1458 ha and is the largest municipal part with a total area of the large municipality of Hosenfeld of 5,074.3521 ha.
