The Fürstenberg/Havel railway ferry is a ferry in Fürstenberg/Havel across the Havel. The ferry service began in 1934 and was not discontinued until 1993. Since 1993, this ferry has been a listed building.
The ferry was to be officially built for Faserstoff GmbH in Fürstenberg/Havel. However, this company had gone bankrupt in 1926 and was acquired by the Army Ordnance Office in 1929. The name Faserstoff GmbH was retained in order to conceal the storage and production of weapons in the former halls of Faserstoff GmbH, which was prohibited by the Treaty of Versailles. In 1934, the production of bullet casings began, mainly for the 8.8 cm anti-aircraft gun 18/36/37 of the German Wehrmacht. These bullet casings then had to be taken to the Lufthauptmunitionsanstalt Strelitz near Neustrelitz. The railway ferry was needed for this purpose, as the hydraulic engineering office objected to the construction of a bridge. The ferry's track system was completed in 1936 with a connection to the Britz–Fürstenberg line. Until 1950, the Havel formed the border between Fürstenberg in Mecklenburg and the municipality of Ravensbrück in Brandenburg.
