The VR-Bank Spangenberg-Morschen eG is a cooperative bank based in Spangenberg, North Hesse. Its business area includes the city of Spangenberg as well as the municipality of Morschen.
The origin of the present bank lies in the Spangenberg district of Pfieffe. There, on February 16, 1889, the savings and loan fund for cooperative money and goods transactions was established. In 1912, it merged with the Raiffeisenkasse Nausis. In 1973, the Raiffeisenbank Spangenberg eG was founded through the merger with the Raiffeisenbank Mörshausen. Finally, in 1991, the present bank was established through the merger with the Raiffeisenbank Morschen eG.
