Püttlinger Castle

The Püttlingen Castle is a former hunting lodge in Püttlingen. It is a listed building.
Prince Ludwig of Nassau-Saarbrücken had a hunting lodge built on the foundation of a corner tower of Püttlingen Castle in 1789/90. However, in 1793, the house was confiscated by the French Revolutionary government and made available to the Metz Civil Hospital. In 1817, the building was sold to private individuals before being acquired in 1857 by the first mayor of Püttlingen, Johann Peter Pickard. A decree from the Prussian government in Trier designated the castle as the "official premises" of the municipality of Püttlingen in 1868. Until 1904, the castle served as a town hall, but it then became too small, and a new building was erected a few meters to the north. In subsequent years, the mayors used the house as a residence.
