Naturpark-Radweg Etappe 1 - von Freudenstadt nach Offenburg

Experience the scenic diversity of the Central/North Black Forest Nature Park, its highlights and treasures along the way and enjoy the culinary offerings of your hosts on the 260-kilometre, well-maintained cycle route. On the first stage, you cycle along the Kinzigtal valley and cross the Black Forest from east to west.

The nature park cycle path takes you through the most beautiful corners of the northern and central Black Forest. You can expect impressive, diverse landscapes, beautiful little towns and excellent gastronomy - the Black Forest as you would expect from a picture book. In the Kinzig valley, you will mainly encounter half-timbered houses from the rafting era, orchards and pastures. You start at an altitude of almost 800 meters and ride through one of the warmest Black Forest valleys until you reach Offenburg at the end of the route, which lies around 150 meters above sea level and is framed by the vineyards of the foothills. Just a few kilometers before your destination, you will notice how the trees give way and more and more vines adorn the landscape.There is plenty to discover, so plan your route to suit your mood! Start by cycling around Germany's largest market square, visit the monastery brewery in Alpirsbach, follow in the footsteps of the raftsmen in the museums in Schiltach, Wolfach and Gengenbach and enjoy regional products from the nature park in the market barn in Berghaupten.
The nature park cycle path is also suitable for e-bikers: you will find e-bike charging stations along the entire route where you can recharge your pedelec battery free of charge.
