Auf den großen Zschirnstein

From the parking lot in Kleingießhübel, we leave the village on the initially steeply ascending asphalt meadow path and soon reach the forest. Here the gradient becomes less steep until, after 1.5 km, the road becomes steeper again towards a large crossroads. Here we continue straight ahead on the now slightly ascending Alte Tetschener Straße until after another 1.2 km we reach the next large crossroads at a rest area called Kalkbude. On the Zschirnsteinweg, which branches off to the right here, the surface gets worse and worse over time. The following 500m long passage is washed out except for the coarse and loose gravel. Even though the terrain flattens out again afterwards, there are still short, steep sections with rock slabs to negotiate until you reach the view. The summit offers a beautiful view and a small refuge. We use the same route for the way back.
