A good starting point to begin is the Municipal Museum Schloss Salder. There are plenty of free parking spaces available. The route leads towards Gebhardshagen, where historic buildings await. In Lattemannsgasse stands the old Lattemansche House from the year 1636, a short distance away is the Water Castle Gebhardshagen with the Knight's Castle Adventure Playground. The journey continues through Calbecht to Groß Mahner to the decommissioned sugar factory. A detour to Salzgitter-Bad, a state-recognized place with brine spa operations, is definitely worth it. Through the half-timbered old town, you reach the Rose Garden and can relax and take a deep breath at the graduation pavilion. The tour back to Groß Mahner continues through rurally shaped villages to Heerter See. Many birds can be observed from the viewing platform.
