Ralbitz-Rosenthal - Tour 5

A leisurely tour through the Lasker Auwald forest and along easily accessible country lanes in the middle of the Sorbian settlement area.
The bilingual municipality of Ralbitz-Rosenthal is located in the heart of Sorbian-speaking Lusatia. Many Sorbian traditions and customs are still lovingly preserved in the villages.
Rosenthal is home to a Marian pilgrimage site, which was looked after by Cistercians until 2007. Several pilgrimages take place on the pilgrimage meadow every year, including that of the diocese of Dresden-Meißen. The Rosenthal pilgrimage site is one of the five pilgrimage sites that have been part of the "Central European Pilgrimage Sites" association since 2000.
The starting point and destination of Ralbitz is known nationwide for its listed cemetery. White wooden crosses at each grave form symmetries and symbolize the equality of all people before God.
