Nature park trail Bielefeld 4: Hidden Time Signs

With the "NatureTimeTravel", the dimension of "time" with its diverse facets in the natural and cultural landscape becomes tangible for nature and hiking enthusiasts on six selected hiking trails in the Teutoburg Forest near Bielefeld.
The "time" includes the history of the landscape, as it has been shaped and influenced by the people living here over centuries, but also the natural cycle of plants and animals in the seasons and in their life phases. This also includes the "dynamic" history of the earth, which created the Teutoburg Forest around 70 million years ago.
Themes are assigned to the trails, which are highlighted by "time windows" and "witnesses of time" during the hike. Thus, the defining theme of circular trail 1 is the still recognizable impact of historical forest use by humans. Trails 2 and 3 focus on the seasons in the beech forest. The traces of often hidden signs of human life can be explored on trail 4, and trails 5 and 6 show the possibilities that the earth's history has created for vegetation through the shaping of different geological formations and the consequences this has for local biodiversity.
