A good level of fitness and stamina are required for a tour on the Green Roof Cycle Path. The scenically varied cycle path leads through the Bavarian-Bohemian border region. From the Vogtland Cycle Trail junction near Nentschau, the Green Roof Cycle Trail follows the state border to the Czech Republic and mainly runs along forest paths and connecting roads with little traffic. For those interested in culture, the Green Roof Cycle Route offers a variety of historical sights. Numerous museums and castles line the route. The Schwarzach accompanies the cyclist as far as Schönthal and only from Cham does the cycle path run alongside a river again, the Regen. From Blaibach, the route follows the White Rain to its source. From here at the latest, a little fitness is required, as from now on the route climbs steadily uphill to the Arber mountain saddle "Brennes". However, a fantastic five-kilometre descent to Bayerisch Eisenstein makes up for all the effort. Our tip: The Green Roof Cycle Trail in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park runs along the Schwarzach-Regen Cycle Trail, parts of the Regental Cycle Trail and the Lamer-Winkel-Arber Cycle Trail.
