Salobreña: from the beach to the castle

Salobreña is located on a rock in the coastal plain. Avenues in the coastal area are beautifully laid out. The climb to the castle (castillo) is steep, partially over stairs and partially over very steep slopes. Some streets in the steep village are also used by cars. So be careful.

Beautiful castle, open from 10 AM to 1 PM, you can stay inside until 1:30 PM. The castle is well signposted, with quite a bit of information on boards or via QR code (not in Dutch). At the top is a board indicating the names of mountain peaks in the Sierra Nevada. The Mulhacen, the highest peak on the Spanish mainland, can also be seen.

Upon leaving the castle, there is a restaurant on Calle Agrela. Further along the road, there is only hospitality at the sea.

After the castle, it goes back to the plain through narrow, beautifully flowered streets.
