Symposium of sculptures path

For its second edition, the association Les Géants du Nideck, led by Sylvain Chartier and Bénédicte Weber, hosted six international artist sculptors in residence in 2005 around the French sculptor Antoine Poncet. Antoine Poncet was a student of Germaine Richier and Ossip Zadkine, and met Brancusi and Henri Laurens in 1951. In 1952, he became friends and collaborators with Jean Hans Arp. Inviting seven sculptors 50 years later to create works to be installed in the forest is a beautiful tribute to him. In harmony with the path of the "Bois-Baron" in Wangenbourg, the personal search of the artists resonates with the variety of local geological riches: sandstone, granite, marble, porphyry, rhyolite, and slate. This THE PATH OF THE "BOIS-BARON" 2005 installation allows a return to the origins of matter and the creation of a sustainable contemporary artistic heritage.
