Be careful, dogs must be on a leash throughout the area!
Parking is available in the spacious parking lot at cr305. Be aware of restrictions during the week. For example, parking is not allowed on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.
The hike leads through the beautiful forests of the Biischtert nature reserve.
The Méchelbuch-Biischtert nature reserve is an area of national significance in Luxembourg, in the municipalities of Bissen and to a lesser extent in the municipalities of Colmar-Berg and Vichten, established by a grand ducal decree on February 11, 2020.
It covers an area of 329 hectares and surrounds the Biistertwald and its surroundings, including the Giedchesbisch, the Houbiistert, and parts of the Herenhecken. It is a forest with a series of small ponds and wetlands. At the southern edge, the Helmeschbach flows, feeding two additional ponds.
