Groede remembers Jacob Cats (and his brother Cornelis) as the man who used his fortune to build dikes and who certainly had twelve polders developed. Thanks to Cats, Groede has dry feet, and for that, he will be eternally grateful.
This walk takes you through the picturesque village. If you also want to take a piece of the coast with you, extend the walk with an additional loop of 6 kilometers, the 'Coastal Walk: Dry Feet Thanks to Jacob Cats'.
