In 2009, the Rotary Club Schagen celebrated its fiftieth anniversary. To give this celebration a festive setting, the Cornelis Bok Bicycle Route was established and gifted to interested cyclists.

Starting and ending at Schager Castle, the route winds through the rural surroundings of the municipalities of Zijpe, Harenkarspel, a small part of Heerhugowaard, and Niedorp. At 20 locations where Cornelis Bok painted, you will find a metal sign with a colored image of the original painting that Bok once created there. Each sign is accompanied by a brief explanation. The total route length is approximately 64 km. Optionally, you can shorten the route. The route description offers two options to do so.
