Cycling along the Roosendaalse Vliet

This 48-kilometer-long cycling route follows part of the Roosendaalse and Steenbergse Vliet.
While cycling, you will pass two historic lock facilities.
The route takes you through open landscapes and over dikes.

This route is very quiet; you will likely encounter few other cyclists.

The cycling route starts and ends at the Roosendaal train station.

The Roosendaalse Vliet is a waterway in the Dutch province of North Brabant that connects Roosendaal with the Volkerak.

The waterway originates near Kalmthout in Belgium as Kleine Aa, further downstream it is called Wildertse Beek. It flows east of Essen and then Nispen, and is then referred to as Wasserfabriek or Molenbeek. It flows through Roosendaal and here becomes the New Roosendaalse Vliet. This continues to flow northward and eventually bends westward, where it transitions into the Steenbergse Vliet at Bovensas, which is connected to the Volkerak by the locks of Benedensas. Through the Mark-Vliet Canal, the Vliet also receives water from the Dintel.
