Walk Ekeren Green Cross

Province of Antwerp and GruunRant vzw collaborated to develop seven loop-shaped walks. More info and detailed route descriptions with plenty of facts can be found at gruunrant.org/wandelroutes and provincieantwerpen.be/GroenKruis.

In Ekeren, you will find some ecological highlights such as Oude Landen and Bospolder. Through green strips left between urban infrastructure, this walk connects two green areas.

Oude Landen offers you 100 hectares of spontaneously developed nature, right in an urban area. The Bospolder was previously - as the name suggests - a polder area. Today you will find grasslands, reed beds, forests, and wetlands, interspersed with shallow ponds.

Between the two larger green areas, you can walk in the recently created Rozemaaipark where the Donkse Beek has regained space, and Hof De Bist, a public park with a wooded area. This walking route can be muddy during wet periods, so boots or waterproof footwear are recommended.
