De Doode Bemde Nature Reserve, with an area of 250 ha and part of the European Natura 2000 network. The Beemden are wet meadows that are too wet for agriculture but have a high natural value that benefits the fauna and flora. Natuurpunt offers 2 walks (blue and red on their hiking map). The GPS route (also to follow with junctions) is a combination of blue and red, but briefly deviates towards the observation hut on the Langerodevijver (definitely worth a walk around). Meandering along the banks of the Dyle and IJse, waterfowl watching on various ponds. Parking in Kapelweg near the Baron B&B house and exit 213 on foot is at the intersection of the White Chapel.
