This walk in Wathermal is a variant of a circuit that starts in the nearby Ourthe. We let the walk start in the village itself, thus avoiding a terribly boring stretch from Ourthe to here. Moreover, we have extended the loop.
This is an ideal walk to enjoy a few hours of an Ardennes landscape with a nice variation of nature and heritage. The village center itself is already worth a visit. The church is situated on a higher rock and is surrounded by a charming cemetery. Here you can see a very rare grave stone in Belgium. Furthermore, you walk past the boundary markers, a special chapel, and a moment for four brothers who were executed in the last days of the war. Enjoy the nature reserve along which line 42 rushes between Gouvy and Troisvierges.
The path is easy and dry.
A stroller does not seem to be a problem.
There is no hospitality in the village, but there is in the nearby Gouvy.
