Train step Pecrot > Heverlee 20km

Departure from the station of Pécrot. The start goes through forests and agricultural areas towards the village center of Nethen. Here we choose to go further north towards Meerdaalwoud. Through the 2 bivouac zones (picnic opportunities), we trek through the stately Meerdaalwoud to then descend into the valley of the Dijle and cross the entire nature reserve Doode Bemde. After a little under 20 km, we arrive in Heverlee. First, we pass through the more remote university campus of KUL. We visit the beautiful Arenberg castle and walk into the city. We follow the GR to the station of Heverlee. Departure and arrival are on the same railway line Leuven - Ottignies. During the week, there are 2 trains per hour, on weekends and during school holidays only 1 train per hour.
