The walk is like a necklace strung with green jewels: Lembeekbos, Bois de Bailli, Hallerbos, nature reserves Bruyère Mathias, De Grote Zenne, Maasdalbos … Braine-le-Château is the most fascinating village with its historical heritage.
During the journey, you walk through a picturesque, undulating landscape of meadows, fields, an occasional chapel, lovely stream valleys, but very often larger and smaller deciduous forests. You traverse this beech landscape on 'slow roads' of grass, gravel, cobblestones, tiles, clay ... rarely flat but also seldom calf-biting ... surprisingly many forest or forest edge paths. In April/May, they are colored blue (bluebell) and white (wood anemone and garlic mustard).
Since 1995, there has also been a provincial border: Flemish and Walloon Brabant can only be noticed by the street signs and Lembeek (Lembeck), our starting village, and Braine-le-Château (Kasteelbrakel).
