The Vicelinkirche in Neumünster is located in the southeast of the oldest settlement core, Kleinflecken. The stream Schwale makes a bend there, in the middle of which stands the impressive building, the landmark of the city of Neumünster. The gallery church is considered the most significant neoclassical church building in Schleswig-Holstein. The design is by the Copenhagen chief construction director Christian Frederik Hansen.
During its existence, it was the garrison church of the Schleswig-Holstein Infantry Regiment No. 163.
